inboxr ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our personal CRM application and browser extension.

Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your name and email address through our authentication provider (Clerk). This is used to identify your account and send you important notifications like reminder emails.

Contact Information You Save

You can save contact information including names, email addresses, phone numbers, job titles, companies, locations, and social media profile URLs. This data is provided by you and stored securely in your account.

Browser Extension Data

Our browser extension reads publicly visible information from social media profiles (LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, Behance, Contra) only when you explicitly click to save a contact. We do not track your browsing history or collect data without your action.

Notes and Interactions

Any notes, tags, groups, or interaction logs you create are stored in your account. This content is created entirely by you.

How We Use Your Information

  • To provide and maintain the inboxr service
  • To send you reminder notifications (email) that you configure
  • To authenticate your account and keep it secure
  • To respond to your support requests

We do not sell your personal data. We do not share your contact information with third parties. We do not use your data for advertising purposes.

Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely in encrypted databases. We use industry-standard security measures including:

  • HTTPS encryption for all data in transit
  • Encrypted database storage
  • Secure authentication via Clerk
  • Regular security audits

Browser Extension Permissions

Our browser extension requests the following permissions:

  • activeTab: To read the current page when you click the extension to save a contact
  • Host permissions: To access social media profiles on supported sites (LinkedIn, Twitter, etc.)
  • Storage: To save your login state locally
  • Tabs: To detect when you're on a supported profile page

The extension only activates when you interact with it. It does not run in the background or collect data automatically.

Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You can delete individual contacts, notes, or your entire account at any time. When you delete data, it is permanently removed from our servers within 30 days.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access: Export all your data at any time from Settings
  • Correction: Edit any of your contact information
  • Deletion: Delete individual contacts or your entire account
  • Portability: Export your data in CSV or JSON format

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

  • Clerk: For authentication (manages your login securely)
  • Resend: For sending reminder emails
  • Railway: For hosting our servers

These services have their own privacy policies and are selected for their commitment to data security.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes by email or through a notice in the application. Your continued use of inboxr after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
